EDINBURGH

Amber, Olga, Anniena ,and I, recently went on vacation to England

Amber stayed with her ex child minder and our very good friend Vicky, Carl, Chris and Travis, while the rest of us drove the 4 hours up to Edinburgh we stayed with George and Tom who made us very welcome.

Although I have been to Edinburgh many times, I have not seen the city since I was a child so it was all new to me. We bought a bus ticket costing 12 pounds each, which enabled us to go on 4 different buses showing us all of the city, it was an open top bus and many of the pictures are taken from this, the buses stopped at most of themain attractions there is too much to see in one day but we did outr best our first stop was the botanical gardens

Anniena and I under one of the biggest hedges grown

The little house in the Queen mothers memorial garden with wonder tiles inside made with real shells

After 2 hours and some wonderful home made soup, went of the Edinburgh harbour but we didnt get off, as time was going on... but here are some photos, this is where the Royal Yacht  Britania now is docked

back we got on the bus for the tour of Edinburgh its self the castle and all the other interesting things we did get off to see the Royal Museum, or should I say some of it its vast and too big to do with the rest of the tour, in one day

 next came

The Real Mary King's Close

whichconsists of a number of underground Closes which would have originally been very narrow walkways with houses on either side stretching up to 7 storeys high and dating back several centuries. In 1753 the Burgh authorities decided to develop a grand new building, the Royal Exchange (now the City Chambers). The houses at the top of the Closes were knocked down and part of the lower sections were kept and used as the foundations for the new building, leaving a number of dark and mysterious underground Closes and ancient dwellings steeped in mystery!

its facinating and well worth the 8 pound ticket a guided tour lasting just over an hour but facinating  WATCH OUR FOR THE GHOSTS....

this is one Amber would have loved had she come

the rest of the photos are of the city and the castle,...

Hope you enjoyed our  page of Edinburgh we are back there again next year so we should have more photos of it....

well worth a vist but you need much more time they also do a bus ticket for three days which is a bargain the open top bus is the best way to see Edinburgh and it lets you get  off at the best attractions and then you just hop back on again for the next tour....
