The Cinnamon colour was
introduced in the UK, by breeding a British
shorthair Female to a Cinnamon
Oriental male.
.I first
noticed the British Cinnamon at
a show, in 1997 it was still in its very
early stages looking more like
an oriental cat than a British
Shorthair, the owners of the cat
at the show where Malcolm and
Christine Stephenson, who at the
time had no kittens but they
informed me that the British
shorthair Judge George Gow one
of the foundation breeders of
the Cinnamons had some so I Purchased my
first cat a chocolate from
George in 1998
Gowlaren Sarah Vaughn

Lulu was a
chocolate self carrier of the
Cinnamon gene, she was then
mated to
Malsome Moorcroft Boy 15k

Walter
a Cinnamon self male, and my
current boys great /great
granddad their first
litter of 7 kittens there were
3 chocolate selfs ,1
Chocolate pointed, 2 Fawn
self, 1 Lilac colourpointed.
I
kept the Female Self Fawn, and named
her Badsworth Enchantress

Chantey went on to gain (3 merits )
She was retired from breeding at
the age of 3 after 2 litters
below is her brother here Badsworth Funkie Fergal Lilac
Colourpointed

Enchantress First

Chantey
now lives with a wonderful

she will live her life out as a

Now retired

PLUS Boadicat

Mascot, off Malcolm and
Christine Stephenson Pictured
Below when they finished
breeding with her

From
some of the cats above I have cats I have Produced
many carriers and Visuals I kept
some of them to progress
one of
them being my wonderful
Badsworth Lucretius, the
comments on Lucretius "Rupert"
from some British shorthair
Judges in the UK was one of the
best Cinnamons to be seen on the
bench,
Rupert has a wonderful colour of
Cinnamon, and his coat is
sound to the roots.
(4 Merits
Qualified)

Rupert is now living
with George Gow in Edinburgh,
where he is 2005 sired a
wonderful litter of Chocolate
and Cinnamon Tabby kittens
With the help of a Chocolate
Tabby Girl, who came to us for
stud... when I took he back to
her owner I offered Rupert to
George on Loan, but decided that
I have his son Lucius and George
could keep him
Lucretius
is the father of 3
Children which caused a lot of
upset in the Cinnamon and fawn
Breeding programme, in the UK.
One of
his children was homed with
Malcolm Stephenson,
Badsworth Laurentia a female. (
Which because he thought
WRONGLY!!! that because of an
error on the part of the GCCF
that she couldn't be bred from
he Neutered her at 5 months
old...but when the GCCF admitted
their mistake he was then VERY
VERY disappointed, but not as
disappointed as me in him... I
was thoroughly disgusted with
him.. for not keeping to the
basic rules of breeding and
offering her back to me...
before he neutered here...
one
boy went off to Dee
Marsland Round Badsworth
Liberius,
Dee will use him in her future
breeding programme and one
kept by us Badsworth Lucius pictured
below this picture does not do
justice to the rich colour of
Cinnamon he is I will when the
weather is better picture him in
true sunlight where you can see
that he is a wonderful warm
Cinnamon colour.

Lucius
above plus the cats listed below
are the cats that will progress
now and produce the Badsworth
cinnamon and Fawns OF THE FUTURE
The whole process of this
breeding programme is to improve
the British Cinnamon/Fawn Type
and Colour, and putting Visual
to visual all the time is not
going to be the way forward
neither is just breeding the
dilutes, as in Fawn and the
carriers Lilac.
The dominant colours like
Black/Seal/ and soon Red Play a very important
part in this process and with
out doing this the whole process
could go backwards, this is the
process across all colours of
British not just Cinnamon and
Fawn.
This is one of the main reasons
for the lack of Eye colour in
both self and Colourpointed
British and the poor
quality coat, and one that we
hope not to be continued within
the Cinnamon and Fawn breed
programme.
Currently I have, I hope a pure
self line, despite having
Colourpointed in the background,
I have test mated the parents 5
times to both self's carrying
the Colourpointed gene and to
full Colourpoints and have not
to date produced a
colourpointed, although this is
a dominant gene and can if a
similar cat is introduced
be reproduced I will continue
with the self mating only on one
side and the Colourpointed on
the other, my aim to totally
eradicate the Colourpointed gene
in my self cats across all my
colours but more so the Cinnamon
and Fawns.
I
have before used the Cinnamon
with in the Bi colour breeding
but at the time it was not the
way forward for me but this is
something I will now be
pursuing. as well as the British
van pattern in this colour.
The
following cats are my breeding
stock which I will use either
to mate to each other or to my
other self coloured and
Colourpointed cats. to progress
further
