The Garden

The new 2008 Garden as we do it

There is an awful lot to do with the garden when we arrived it looked nice but the conifers had killed the grass and also the ground was sour, there is still much to do yet but this is going to be the longest work in progress.

We have started to clear the side garden today.... so there will be in the next few week a before and after section for this..

Here to day just one week on how the plants are doing in the part we finished last week..

Well the weather was good to us it was fine but windy, it was a long day we started at 11 am and ended at 20:30, but we have finished it..

Amber and I moved all the new bricks from the front to the back to make the boys area a bit more landscaped, still lots to do but hey its getting there

Thanks to Frank Anniena and Martijn.... oh and Nicky for lending me Frank!! I managed to get some of the materials here to my home.. so that I can continue with the work....

Amber was not feeling very well in fact she did have a couple of days of school.. but she did help me with the runs just holding them steady so that I could put on the extensions. so now they have a good nine feet to run around... not that they do...

First pen is for Frodo and Jack

The front of the pens will be painted hopefully this weekend then the ground in front will be landscaped with planets and a water feature

Next bank of pens will be for Morpheus, Balou, Constantine and Marshall

We laid the plastic on the ground to stop the weeds planet some plants then used the stone chipping we bought on Saturday many more bags to buy before its completed

A little more achieved move the boys pens over so that we can add the extension the well water pipe was in the way.. we could not move the pipe so we moved the pens we now will add another row of flags and then we can add the length extension, so they have double the run they have now.. after that we will add a small woven fence in front of the boys so that we can grow something nice up it. plus some nice plants around in the ground to attract the butterflies etc give them something to watch.. the girls are fascinated with butterflies..

We started to make some of the boys out door runs..

It was one of those days when all went wrong... we didn't have enough flags so the runs are smaller at the moment until we get time to buy more flags and get it finished... we had hot sun like wow hot!! the torrential rain.. and then hotter than hot sun..... but we got them up eventually ...
